The Six Principles

The Student Leadership Deck is founded on six key principles, divided into two categories:

Principles Within the Student’s Control:

  • Inform: Gather and share knowledge to educate and update others.
  • Inquire: Ask questions, seek feedback, and explore new ideas.
  • Inspire: Motivate and encourage others to take action.

Principles Focused on Interactions with Others:

  • Enjoy: Foster positive relationships and a supportive environment.

The 3×3 Matrix and Leadership Personas

These six principles form a 3×3 matrix, creating nine distinct leadership personas. Each persona provides clear guidance and strategies for students to develop their leadership capacity and which can be used in a variety of ways including:

  1. Self-Assessment: Students identify which leadership personas align best with their natural strengths and interests.
  2. Strategy Development: Using the guidance from their chosen personas, students develop strategies to enhance their leadership skills.
  3. Practical Application: Students apply these strategies in real-world scenarios, working with their peers to achieve common goals.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Through feedback and reflection, students refine their leadership approaches, growing both personally and professionally.
