Introducing the LEAD Deck – bringing clarity to leadership.

Leadership is complex, but it doesn’t have to be confusing. The Lead Deck is a structured, hands-on tool designed to help leaders cut through the noise, build confidence, and navigate challenges with clarity.

Each card in the deck distills essential leadership principles into practical, actionable insights, helping leaders:

Make sense of complexity with clear frameworks for getting involved and decision-making.

Refine their leadership approach through reflection and strategic prompts.

Strengthen team dynamics with effective communication and insights.

The Lead Deck transforms leadership from something abstract into something tangible, structured, and ready to apply.

At the core of the Leadership Deck is the 3×3 matrix formed by six principles.  Three principles –  Inform, Inquire and Inspire are directly linked to the leadership approaches determined to be the best approach. The other three principles – Enjoy, Engage and Empower are tied to behaviours exhibited within the teams.

This 3×3 matrix defines the nine Leadership personas that mirror the original Learning Deck, but which focus on the development of leaders within schools.

The LEAD Deck expands on these personas to provide practical insights and strategies for leaders to hone their skills. With ten strategy cards for each of the nine personas (90 cards) these not only give ideas and insights into the development of leadership skills, the prompts also encourage deep reflection about the nature of leadership in schools.

Leadership is also built on theoretical perspectives and research, and there are an additional 19 cards that focus on these important conceptual understandings of leadership, but in very hands-on practical ways.

The LEAD Deck is part of the broader Synnovate Suite providing common approaches and language for coherence from the classroom to the boardroom.
