Nik developed these tools to bring clarity to the complexity of school leadership, teaching, and governance — distilling years of research and practice into visual frameworks that make the invisible visible.
The story behind the cards
After three decades leading and working in international schools, Nik saw a recurring pattern: talented educators and leaders working incredibly hard, but often in silos. Vision statements gathered dust. Strategic plans became shelf-ware. Important conversations happened without a shared framework.
The idea was simple but powerful — what if the most important concepts in teaching, leadership, and governance could be made tangible? What if you could pick them up, lay them out, sort them, and use them to structure real conversations?
The Learning Deck was born from that question. It became the foundation for what is now the Synnovate Suite: eight interconnected tools that span from classroom practice to boardroom governance.
Each deck is designed with the same philosophy — concise, visual, and tactile. Cards that distil complex research into its essence, making abstract ideas concrete and shared language possible.
